Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer to join our dynamic team, supporting Fortune 500 and 1000 customers. This is onsite in either Huntsville, AL or Colorado Springs, CO. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) technologies while designing, implementing, and optimizing virtual desktop environments. The ideal candidate will collaborate with customers, management, and peers to deploy, configure, and support AVD solutions, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability. Responsibilities
· Serve as a subject matter expert in designing, implementing, configuring, and supporting Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) solutions.
· Architect, design, and deploy cloud-based virtual desktop solutions tailored to customer requirements.
· Optimize AVD configurations for diverse environments, ensuring seamless user experiences.
· Perform health assessments of existing AVD implementations and recommend improvements.
· Provide ongoing support for AVD environments in day-to-day operations.
· Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis for system performance and configuration issues.
· Implement and manage Windows-based virtualized environments using Azure and Microsoft technologies.
· Utilize PowerShell scripting to automate tasks and enhance service delivery.
· Apply IT Service Management (ITSM) methodologies to improve service quality.
· Maintain strong communication and collaboration with customers, peers, and leadership teams.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) design, implementation, and support.
- 3+ years of experience working with Windows operating systems (Windows 10 & 11 preferred).
- Proven track record of leading Azure-based VDI implementations.
- Enterprise-level experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining AVD solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills at the System Engineer/Architect level.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a distributed team.
- Confidently contribute to team discussions, propose solutions, and implement best practices.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Highly self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and task management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ-140, AZ-104, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
- Experience with FSLogix, Windows 365 Cloud PC, and Remote Desktop Services (RDS).
- Understanding of networking concepts related to virtual desktop environments.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $128,000.00 – $158,000.00 per year
